June, 2008 Novi, MI. -- Cranbrook Hospice Care, located in Oakland County, has changed its name to Mercy Hospice. The name change developed from the need to make it more recognizable to the community it serves and better reflect affiliation with our community hospitals and facilities. Executive Director, Mary Ann Rayrat, said, "Mercy Hospice has a reputation for its commitment to the community and we plan to continue our high level of services and compassionate care for many years to come." Since 1985, Mercy Hospice has helped people with life-limiting illnesses live their remaining life alert and pain-free, nourished by the support of their loved ones. Hospice patients live their final days with peace and dignity in the comfort of their own homes or residences such as nursing homes. Mercy Hospice consistently meets or exceeds indicators for quality care and family satisfaction. They are licensed by the state of Michigan and are accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP). Mercy Hospice provides services in Oakland, Macomb and western Wayne counties and is expanding into St. Clair and Sanilac counties. |
