Grieving after the death of a loved one is the most difficult process experienced in life. Common feelings during this time may include loneliness, anger, regret, sadness and confusion. Mourning can be overwhelming, take away enormous amounts of energy and affect one's mind, body and spirit. Grief Counseling A member of the THHS Bereavement staff will contact the family member after the death of a loved one to arrange a time to visit. Bereavement counselors offer visits and phone calls to assist in understanding the grief process and provide support as the family member grieves the death of the loved one. Contact continues as needed throughout the year. Monthly Bereavement Letters In the 12 months after the death of a loved one, the family member will receive letters from THHS Hospice Care staff that offer support and information on different aspects of grief and loss. Community Referral Service The THHS Bereavement staff can help direct family members to support groups located in their area. Help through Education THHS Bereavement staff has a variety of educational materials about specific concerns such as coping with the holidays, children's grief and personal grief experiences.
